Canada Day

Mickey McQuire, local cheese seller, joined a lot of others  (check out Flickr) today in wearing Canadian red / regalia / markings to mark the annual celebration but also the 150th anniversary of Confederation.

The daughter of the older woman in the extra said her mother is an (ab)original - a Cree hunter and fisher from Saskatchewan - peoples who have lived here for many more that 150 years, and she is a little ambivalent about the celebrations.  Some say Canada 150+ or alternately Colonialism 150.
