Lake George

Lake George is an endorheic (that's means no outlet to rivers or sea - I looked it up) lake 40km north east of Canberra.
That may have something to do with mysterious variations in its water level.
During 1980s and 90s the water lapped the highway. Sometimes you can't see any water at all.
Back in 1956 five people died during a boating race and several fishermen have also disappeared.
These days it's more common to see sheep grazing on the "lake".
At least it's always interesting to visit as you never know what you will find.
