22 Years

22 years it has taken Ben to Win the Squire Cup, this is the most prestigious and most difficult trophy the Timaru Harrier Club has to win. Today was the 81st consecutive year Run Timaru has held the Squire Cup Races and never stopped during the War Years. The Squire Cup competed for by the Senior Men is a Handicapped Race. There is a Separate Trophy for the Senior Women Won by Beccs and both runners deserved their wins today.  I won the Squire Cup in my first year and was second the following year and know first hand how hard it is to win. Ben's Time over the 9km up and down course and very slippery underfoot was 34:08.
