Eastern Phoebe

....looking quite rumpled with all its ruffled feathers and who can blame it, because the heat and humidity are quite oppressive.  WRPerry and I had an unusual Sunday outing today. Both our spouses had other things to do and we thought we would take advantage of diminished Sunday traffic and go to Huntley Meadows in Alexandria, Virginia, about 30 minutes from home. We were rewarded with Green Herons, Wood Ducks, Otters, Dragonflies and butterflies.  At one point we were looking out at a Great Blue Heron,  a Great White Egret and Green Heron.  We didn't know where to point the camera first.

The heat wiped me out and now I must go and take a well-deserved nap.

BTW, my seedheads of several days ago have been identified as Wild Onions.

Just a reminder:  the Tiny Tuesday host for July will be Holliegirl.  Be sure to tag your Tiny Tuesday blip on July 4 with TT110.
