What a lovely day:-

Today the Ramsey and District Beekeepers set up a stall at an open day of our local Manx national Trust property called "the Grove".  This is situate on the outskirts of Ramsey.

We met quite a number of people who expressed an interest in bees and beekeeping.

The object in the middle of the picture is not a fruit machine but is, in fact, a small hive of bees called an observation hive.  It has glass side panes and the bees can be seen working inside.

It is very attractive to children and we were fully occupied explaining to them the life of the honey bee and how everyone is affected by their need to prosper.

A successful beekeeping day!
