Blackbird sunning.

At last a day of sunshine and warmth and it was obviously being appreciated by this blackbird lying with wings spread out, unfortunately not in the most photogenic spot, in a pile of weeds and rubbish at the bottom of my garden.

It was obviously feeling it a bit hot as it lay with beak wide open and then would preen itself frantically probably trying to get rid of parasites and improve its feather condition. It was certainly taking advantage of the summer weather - I hope it lasts!
