Today was farewell to Bobby who, after 17 years of service as Education Officer welcoming hundreds of schools, tens of thousands of children and growing a fabulous team of volunteers has now passed on her leadership role. Bobby will still be there welcoming, loving, helping and serving …. some things can never be given up, it’s part of who we are.
And today’s extra is of Bishop Qampicha from Marsabit in Kenya. I met Bishop Qampicha this afternoon and heard great things of life and ministry in Kenya. Marsabit is the largest county of Kenya, covering an area of 70,961km2. There are 126 primary schools and 16 high schools and the teacher to pupil ratio is 1:54. The population is mixed, including Rendille, Borana, Gabbra, Turkana and Samburu. Many are nomadic. I’m now at the end of my Marsabit knowledge!
