Waiting for the Bus

I joined the local sports centre today, walking the 1.5 miles there and then back to add to the exercise I was committing to for the foreseeable future.  As ever, a camera was in hand, looking for photographic opportunities.

This image struck a chord after hearing about a survey of smartphone usage in the UK.  It was quite staggering to read some of the findings:

80% use a smartphone while talking to friends
68% use a smartphone while having dinner with the family
81% use a smartphone while watching the TV
34% check smartphones in the middle of the night
32% check their smartphone within 5 minutes of waking up
31% of smartphone users make no calls on the device in a given week

And then I realise that I have exhibited nearly all of those behaviours at one time or another.  Amazing how this little device has such a fundamental impact on our lives!
