Inverness

MONDAY

This is Inverness. We are staying in a fab hotel on the banks of the River Ness in the shadow of the castle (see extra).  We are not supposed to be here. Both photos were taken around 23:15. It's almost midnight and  it's still twilight.

The 16:40 flight from Manchester was late in taking off which meant that we missed out connecting flight from Aberdeen to Kirkwall in Orkney. Furthermore all flights tomorrow are fully-booked so we are leaving from Inverness.

So this evening's dinner was courtesy of Flybe. They then paid for a £200 taxi journey to Inverness and put us up in this rather splendid hotel. Tomorrow they have booked us another taxi to the airport and arranged flights from Inverness to Kirkwall.
