Tomato tasting

As requested, I am posting the results of the dégustation. I blipped the old tomato varieties on sale and dutifully went back to buy a selection. Today they were eaten with a warm goats' cheese salad and toast. The yellow tomatoes had a mild, slightly nutty flavour, both the small and large orange varieties had a mild, sweet taste, the light red tomato had the least flavour, much like your ordinary English tomato, the green tomato was piquant and acidic and would be good to accompany a strong, hard cheese but my favourite was the dark red tomato which had a deep, full flavour. I shall buy some more!
