Lifeboatman

A damp day, but it didn't get in the way of the fun.

This morning we went to Staithes, which CyclopsJnr has already seen on TV on "Old Jack's Tales".  He was pleased to get a leaflet to collect "Old Jack" stickers in, and delighted to go hunting for fossils.  In the car on the way we mentioned this, thinking we could fob him off with any old rock if need be.  Then he said "I need a brush to clean fossils" and it became apparent he was more expert in fossil hunting than we thought.  Fortunately we found some fossils quite easily.

After lunch and a little nap in the car, we went to a lovely soft play where he rampaged for a couple hours.  A couple of 10-year-old girls adopted him for a while, much to his delight, and showed him how to get up to the big slides.  Later we found him on the bouncy castle surrounded by a large group of kids, als about 9 or 10 years old, from a school party.  They were clapping when he bounced and fell over, and showing him new tricks.  He loved the attention.

This evening we all went round to dinner and enjoyed sharing Tapas together.

CyclopsJnr has showed quite a lot of interest in lifeboats over the last few days.  We visited the old lifeboat station in Whitby on Sunday where we bought him a toy lifeboat for the bath. Yesterday we saw the new Shannon class lifeboat at Scarborough, and the today the B-Class Atlantic 85 at Staithes.  He was delighted to be able to wear a lifejacket and helmet and go in a miniature lifeboat for a ride.
