Helenium 'Moerheim Beauty'

Quite a busy day today, this weekend it's the Linton St Mary's Flower Festival and Margaret is doing one of the arrangements. So today we made the annual trip to Stocking Pelham where there is a flower importer and we returned home with a car full of flowers that had been delivered from Holland this very morning.

We were both amazed to see six Red Kites wheeling and soaring over the edge of the village, a great sight!  These birds have made an amazing comeback, we'll soon have to heed Shakespear's warning "When the kite builds, look to lesser linen."

This afternoon I did a little shopping while Margaret was volunteering...

Our Helenium is in flower and it seems very early to be doing so. The bees love these flowers.
