Hill Top Ramblings

Gee-up!

I had a great surprise at work this week. The head chef for our group was there when I arrived and had come to lend a hand and discuss general things, for two days!
So I got him to peel the spuds, make the soup and the creme brûlée, the sweet and sour chicken and the sandwiches while I monitored and got to work on our dreadful fridge. It has no functioning shelves so that if you put a tray of desserts in, they fall to the floor, and the milk cartons regularly come tumbling out. Not to mention a serious glacier at the back.
I chipped away for a while, then we decided to leave it turned off overnight to finish defrosting with a rather wishful request that the night staff do some mopping up if they have a chance!
I came in this morning expecting Noah's Flood and found a clean dry floor and the fridge pushed back into place! Wow!
Then our new handyman wandered in bearing some pieces of plastic ducting and proceeded to make shelf supports!!
We now have a functioning fridge with five secure shelves!!! Remarkable progress and thanks to Andy from Kenya!
Meanwhile George has found a new use for Dennis with his novel ability to walk and chase - hope Dennis doesn't get up too suddenly xx
