Rain in the Auvergne

Having been wanting rain for the last two weeks to help water the garden, the one day we wanted some sun to enjoy the Auvergne and it poured on an doff all day.
Some pretty villages - this is Lavedieu - but plans to camp near Cleremont Ferrand were abandoned in the downpour and we kept heading west, ending up in Hautefort, where it continued to rain but not quite so heavily. Both restaurants recommended to us were complet and so another one chosen which was decent and a very different cuisine to that of the Ardeche. Good if you like duck, not so good otherwise.
