Flower ......

 ......... Friday7  (FF7)

Much pinker ....... and greener

Spirea in the garden - not exactly inspired but it's been a "bit of a week".

On top of my 'malaise' Himself was admitted to hospital suddenly on Wednesday morning after a visit to the doctor.
We sat in A&E for almost four hours before they got him a bed.

I came home, he telephoned later to say a CT scan was booked for Thursday morning - they'd given him morphine for the pain.

Mid-morning Thursday he called again - can I go and fetch him please, they are short of beds and there is no availability on the scan machine - he will be "put on the list as an outpatient"  -  no pain relief prescribed so it's over-the-counter co-codomol as and when needed.

As they say these days "WTH" (and that's the polite version!!!)

Now, to all my American friends, our National Health Service is not all it's cracked up to be - yes it's "free" (we actually have money deducted from wages/salary so not really free) but this is the sort of thing that happens on an all too regular basis - as well as operations cancelled after pre-med given, ops cancelled just after you have been called to go in and arrived, no beds available, doctor/nurse shortages, staff that speak extremely basic English because they cannot/will not recruit here at home ...... aaargh I could go on but won't.  Rant over.  Sorry.

Anyway, we feel like a couple of old codgers propping each other up and wondering who will sort out the next wave of painkillers!!!!!   :o))

Happy bl**dy Friday!   Lol

I must say, though - that the good staff and the good hospitals are very good and they do a sterling job under pressure!
