Listening to an organ concert today I discovered all of a sudden that this Jesus statue looked unusual. He is crucified but is not really hanging. He is wearing rather a golden crown than a thorn crown. He has nails in his hands but none in his feet. And he is as fully dressed as a prudish American minister could wish for.
The rope around his waist is pulled so tight that he got rather female hips.
I ask myself what the artist was thinking when creating this or what the episcopal
Church had been thinking of when ordering this statue.
