Electric Palace

Believe it or not this is a detail from what was originally an electricity sub-station which provided part of Cheltenham's elctricity supply back in 1895. Its design was based on the Strozzi Palace, Florence. A good example of how the Victorians made something that could be quite mundane into something that was beautiful, grand and inspiring!
