Keld

Trying to organise 18 people to walk in 3 different groups dependng on how far they wanted to walk was like herding cats. It did not help that the briefing was held the night before when too much alcohol had been consumed. One of our party nearly got stranded . I had to descend an escarpment on my bottom to find a path because my brother in law cannot read a map.  Son R was so dismayed at the thought of walking with a load of old people that he got up at 6:00am and ran 12 miles before breakfast.
On the plus side we all had a good walk in wonderful scenery and it was not as hot as Down South. Keld is the half way point on the Coast to Coast walk and the scene of lots of old tin mine workings in the hills. Awesome scenery.
