Luke's 21st Party

Having a party at home is rather a lot of work to organise, and it when it comes to most of the guests being 21 years old it brings with it certain responsibilities for the parents at the party. It was a busy day with deliveries and some last minute tweaks to the seating plan due to another late cancellation but finally - the magic hour arrived and the guests started to arrive and the party started.

The James Bond theme went down well - here you can see the table decorations with the huge martini glass vases from the florist and you may note that each table was named after a Bond film - 6 tables with each table named after a film with each of the different actors who have played Bond so far.

The food was delicious, the caterer really excelled herself and after the speeches the music was cranked up and the dancing started and the casino tables also opened for some fake money gambling. It was a very good evening but I did notice that Gavin was not quite relaxed as he felt he was on duty just checking that the youngsters were okay.

I went home with my sister at about 2am and Gavin stayed to sleep at the new house to check that no disaster happened during the night. The youngsters all slept in the marquee as is the norm at such parties - no driving home after drinking. Gavin finally pulled the plug on the silent disco at about 3.45am as although the music could not be heard as it was coming through the headphones, the laughing and singing along was rather noisy!

Some extras if you are interested.
