Apagorevetai - Forbidden

About halfway between the church of the Virgin Mary as a youngster and the church of the Assumption is a small public square above the main village spring. Located at this square is a grill taverna called 'To Louki' but popularly known by its British clientele as Frank Lampard's because of the owner's uncanny resemblance to Mr Frank Lampard. It is a popular venue from mid morning until late evening. If one were to drive a car into the village from the main road at the bottom it would be a very good idea to turn around at this square. Of course turning a car around in the square now that it has been filled with tables and chairs would cause a lot of people a great deal of inconvenience and so it is that a new gate has been installed at the start of the road which leads to the square. The gate does not quite reach the wall on the other side and so even when it has been locked into the closed position it is still possible to pass either on foot or on a scooter. The sign reads “Entry is forbidden 20:00 – 24:00” so presumably Nestor, the village janitor, will come to lock and unlock the gates at those times.
