More hats...

and bicycles.  I had fun today going through a box of old photographs taken by my great-grandfather who was a keen amateur photographer in the late 19th century in Port Byron, NY state. He clearly enjoyed taking photos of the local population, including workers in factories and shops, and there are a few from further afield in NYC and Washington DC. He kept everything and I also have a diary of his daily adventures. He liked to cut things out of newspapers, too, so there are clippings of things such as the results of elections in 1888.

I also have pencil notes he made about how to print photographs, which is a ridiculously long process. Might copy it out sometime.

The extra is a photo of his wife, which luckily has a tissue cover and is therefore in pristine condition.
