A view from St Swithin

Leith Hall

We have rejoined the National Trust this year and have started to revist some of the castles  and houses in our area .
Today we went to Leith Hall which is close to Huntly . I was last here when I was a boy and only remember that the house was closed .
Today it was open and we'd a guided tour followed by a coffee then a walk round the garden and small loch . Lots to see but we thought the garden was the best part of the visit  with some fantastic borders and trees to admire . This is one of the catmint border - called after the purple flower which I learnt is called catmint . Well worth a visit if you are ever in the area .
