Sultan Mosque, Kampong Glam, Singapore

Day 11

An early rise for church. Again, warmly welcomed, and afterwards tea and delicious food in the basement carpark. Thought for the day - "Better than yesterday".

We had a wander around Kampong Glam. A Muslim, Middle Eastern area. So colourful, beautiful dress shops, lots of wall murals which made me think of Glasgow. I really liked the Jazz Club Art Deco entrance doorway. Lots of traditional houses with wooden shutters above the shops, the massive banking high rises in the distance.

On to Chinatown, for some special beef noodles. We were invited to order on an iPad. Eventually gave up, and used the traditional waiter method.

Not feeling so well today, so had some sleep this afternoon. Later the family had another reunion. Four generations together. The boys had fun trying to fish out tadpoles from the garden pond. We also enjoyed another piano concert. Special to be together.
