Lathyrus Odoratus

Small Red

I got over-excited (again) this afternoon, finding a national rarity - the Small Red damselfly (Ceriagrion tenellum) - on Ashdown Forest.. Its only about 30 mm long  and, unlike the Large Red, its abdomen is almost entirely red as are its legs and pterostigma. Difficult to photograph in the strong breeze, especially when holding a spaniel by the collar in one hand.
