Sam's House

Very hot day today, spent mostly in the Rosliston National Forest trying to keep in the shade. Popped in to the nearby town of Lichfield in the early evening, which I don't recall having heard about before. It has a very imposing Cathedral which my photographic skills could not do justice to, and this, the house that Dr Samuel Johnson was born in. What a nice surprise to discover that we were at the birthplace of a literary giant. Apparently, he hated Scotland, so what he would make of a couple of Scots at his birthplace, reminiscing about the Blackadder dictionary episode and how we only ever think about Robbie Coltrane when we hear Dr Johnson's name, I can only imagine....
