Allez! allez! allez!

Today the Tour de France came to Bergerac!

This shot taken just beyond the 3km banner before the peloton headed across the River Dordogne and into Bergerac for an exciting finish where Marcel Kittel won the stage with another of his amazing sprints.

Prior to the race arriving, the infamous 'caravan' passed through which is a noisy, multi-coloured procession of sponsors vehicles making as much noise as possible and throwing freebies into the crowd. It's totally bonkers! -  see today's extra photos.

It involves a fair amount of waiting around before the main race arrives, but the atmosphere is terrific and has to be experienced.

(Apologies for my lack of comments recently - I hope to catch up a bit soon)
