Magpie coming in to land

Crisper in large; press "L"!

I've just uploaded an NHM shot for yesterday's (back) blip.

I've enjoyed trying to capture the iridescence on magpies' wings this afternoon. They are spectacularly vibrant when the light catches them in the right way...

Anyway, not much to say; here is a magpie that was moments from landing. I've uploaded (to my Blipfolio, here) a shot taken moments later once its feet had touched the ground but it hadn't yet stabilised itself and folded its wings. The sun was out for that one.

I suppose this is another in my "Familiarity Breeds Contempt" series of photos (after Monday's pigeon).
