Linkin Parks

Not such a hot day today (27 degrees) but wretched humidity of 93% made this morning's 22 kilometers run something of a slog. Still, as a result I was able to capture another city worker's photograph. As you can see, most of these municipal park service workers are of an older demographic. That's because many of the people who work to maintain the beauty of the local environment are retired volunteers. The elderly in Japan are generally speaking far more fit and healthy than those in the west, so you will often see them out and about contributing to community projects like this one here, maintaining the beauty of Koshienhama Park.

This evening, Kazuko, Valerie, Arthur and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at the baseball park. Koshien Stadium, home to the famous Hanshin Tigers. Of course, being our local team we supported the Tigers and I am delighted to say they won after a very tense and exciting game. Here we are, in the extra, letting off our balloons which everyone does at the bottom of the seventh inning. Tremendous fun.
