Culture and cake

Went to the Higgins Gallery in Bedford to see the Romance and Rebellion.

The exhibition features the work of J.M.W. Turner, Frederic, Lord Leighton, Edward Burne-Jones, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, James McNeill Whistler, Richard Dadd and Aubrey Beardsley, and Frederick Sandy.

My favourite was a portrait of Penelope by Frederick Sandy 1878, done in coloured chalks 42.4 x 32.8. The textures were wonderful, and her hair was amazing.

Followed by a huge piece of carrot cake and coffee in their lovely cafe!.
