Testing the boundaries!

This poor bantam has been horribly bullied by the other one.  So much so that I have brought her into the back garden, leaving the bad banty with the big hen for company.  She will think twice about attacking her!  I read in my hen keeping book that the only cure for a bully is to eat it, but as she is the only one actually laying at the moment, her life has been spared - at least for the time being!

This one, Blossom, is pretty tame and does very little damage in the garden, apart from dust bathing between the veg!  She has eaten some of the rocket, but it grows like a weed so I don't mind.  Hopefully she is helping get rid of the slugs and snails, and if she could turn her attention to the caterpillars on the cabbages, I would happily let her stay for ever! The strawberries are ready for picking, we've had some already, but they are covered with net, so should be safe!

Ollie is learning to leave her alone, the novelty of following her around is beginning to wear off, but he does like to keep an eye on her . . . !
