Tiny Pink propellers

Does anybody know what this is.  I've had it in a pot for a number of years,  and I don't think it has flowered before.  
I've no idea where I got it from, and when it is not flowering,  it looks like short blades of grass around 2 inches long.  The flowers are like two three bladed propellers one on top of the other and about 3/4 of an inch across. I've failed to find it online,  so if anybody has any ideas ....
It is very pretty and delicate.
A friend has tracked it down, it's a Rhodohypoxis baurii.
