Dunbar

A beautiful and sunny coastal route led us away from Edinburgh. This time it is route 76 we're following and like the day before yesterday, I also have seen signs with the John Muir Trail, where upon a small bicycle. It surely is not created as a long distance bicycle route, as we at some point noticed. We had to follow a path which we hardly could see in knee high grass. At the beginning of the path we were completely flabbergasted but didn't think about returning to the main road. We started courageously. Viewing back I think the photo turned out fine.

We arrived very early in Dunbar and decided to go to the next campsite since the weather forecast for tomorrow is bad, but when we got there, it appeared to be fully booked. The warden told us that there were hardly campsites lately taking in tents. Next one would be Berwick upon Tweed, which would be too far. He called the campsite in Dunbar for us, arranging a pitch over there. All very nice, but we felt very disappointed with his remark and the fact that we had to cycle back, in a headwind.
