War Memorial Hayfield

A lovely morning spent in Hayfield at the Business Peak District - Made in the Peak District - Marketing - bringing your website alive and keeping your customers happy event!
I'd passed by Hayfield quite a few times and had always been interested in having a walk around and a better look as I'd thought this was where they'd shot the League of Gentleman but Doh! I was wrong it's Hadfield where the filming took place.
None the less Hayfield is the base for a walk up Kinder Scout the start of the mass trespass that took place in 1932 and changed the way that we now access our countryside, so a big thanks to all the protestors.
On a more sombre note, this is a memorial to the men from Hayfield that lost their lives in the second world war, a terrible, bloody and tragic period in history that will see it's 100th anniversary next year.
