We looked in briefly on Penrith on a Plate – part of the Eden Food and Farming Festival. There was lots going on and a fair bit of food being tasted and consumed.

There was a large audience gathered at the Cornmarket for the 80-strong group of musicians from two local schools, Ullswater Community College, Penrith and Appleby Grammar School. They played and sang a wide range of numbers and delighted the people gathered around the bandstand. One lovely songster had a little fan club watching mesmerised.
