Einstein on the Beach

The crowd outside BAM for Philip Glass and Robert Wilson's new production of their classic "Einstein on the Beach". It's marathon theater... 4 plus hours and no intermissions but the audience comes and goes as they need or wish. Most stayed riveted in their seats. It's surreal, absurd, repetitive, abstract, irritating but somehow so beautiful and brilliant. Defies description. Ah, New York.
