The statue in Stroud Museum's Walled Garden

I wanted to view a photo exhibition in the Stroud Museum in the Park which features local views with particular links to local community groups and their environmental endeavours.

Before I left the museum I walked out into the recently renovated walled garden. This used to be the vegetable garden for the original Stratford House in which the museum is now sited. For years it has been abandoned but a large grant has enabled its transformation with the addition of an excellent newly built learning centre at the rear of the site.

The assistant at the museum's reception desk had told me there had been a project with young people who had created a variety of their own art installations which are dotted around the whole building and the gardens. The statue, called  'Summoner' by Alan Thornhill, was not one of their works but is now a permanent part of the garden. I featured it in an earlier Blip here, which shows another angle on the garden.
