Villefranche-sur-Mer

We picked up the electric bikes this morning, and after trying out a couple of different ones, we set off on our ride to Villefranche-sur-Mer. I've always fancied an electric bike and it was amazing, I was pedalling up hill at approx 20 kms per hour!

Unfortunately Alan's bike had a problem and instead of being aided by the motor, he was having to use pedal power! That's fine but the bikes weigh a lot more with the engines.

We had a really lovely lunch, sat at the edge of the water, and then set off on the bikes to Cap Ferrat. Alan had more problems though, and while I was flying up the hill, he couldn't get going, so I rode back down to him and suggested we call the hire shop. They said they'd send someone out to us, and he arrived on a Honda Gold Wing with another bike strapped in the back!

Bike swap done, we set off for Cap Ferrat - we cycled down to the lighthouse at the end and then worked our way back to the main road back to Nice.

Even though the bikes were assisted, we both ache and feel like we've had a good workout!

Tomorrow I've booked a boat trip to go out and see the wild dolphins and whales - fingers crossed we see some!
