Clear off!

This is my patch.

The black rear end is that of a Common Red Soldier Beetle which is scuttling away from a powerful challenger.

The latter is a Hoverfly. I am pretty sure that it is Syrphus ribesil. There are two others which have very small differences and if anyone can put me right I will be grateful.

If anyone is interested, I don't have a macro lens. There was a time when I had one with a DSLR. But it was all too heavy.

This was taken using the macro setting on a Bridge camera costing less than £500. I am very happy with it.
