Nothing happens here...

Harbour View

Well, the sunshine finally reached the North East today and with temperatures of 26c, we took a walk along the sea shore and down to the harbour.  The Strawberry ice cream went down very well.

I first photographed down here over 50 years ago when everywhere was covered in coal dust, hacky dirty little tank engines wheezed under the strain of fully laden coal trucks, overhead gantries carried railway tracks to the coal drops, two steam paddle tugs were tied up (one was to end up in San Francisco as a museum piece) and it was simply not a good place to be.  The long gone miners from Lord Londonderry's Vane Tempest and Dawdon Pits would be astounded to see it today.
