Chicory

Another one of my regular annual Blips. - I quite like that. A Blip In Every Season.

I don't, on the other hand, like Mondays very much.  And this one was especially hard.  A non-stop barrage of phone calls, E-Mails and people turning up in my office to ask me weird questions.  And the weird questions weren't Good Weird Questions like "which former Bishop of Liverpool played 22 Test Matches for England and was the only ordained minister to play first class cricket?"*  No they were dull weird questions like "Why can't I get a DDIO for COBOL 6 to work?"**

I was very happy to head for home.  Hadn't planned on a return of "das Arschloch des Tages"*** but the bus driver on the way home wins hands down.  I'm not that happy that he answered his mobile phone as we were going along what with that being illegal and really f***ing stupid, but the fact that we stayed at the next bus stop for 5 minutes while he continued his chat is really over egging the pudding.  That'll take some beating.

*David Sheppard.  I read that every time he walked down the aisle in the cathedral he wondered if it would take spin.

**Rubbish reason.  OK it needs PROCESS OFFSET as a compiler option and you need to include a SYSLIN for the Object in the JCL
