A woman without a man . . .

Is like a fish without a bicycle.

Guinness advertising campaign.

After a very late morning spent trying to recuperate from our 36 hour Paris experience, we did a little wandering in Dublin then managed to change our booking for the Guinness tour (which was supposed to have been yesterday).  A neat tour, very interesting to learn the history of Guinness, and we all appreciated the free pint at the end of the tour.

After that we headed back into town to pick up the "Dublin Ghost Tour".  It's my sister's birthday tomorrow and her kids and I shouted her the tour as a birthday present.  It was enjoyable - or would have been if it hadn't been for the large group of Russian school children whose behaviour left a lot to be desired.  Their caregivers/teachers were totally ineffective (in fact I never worked out which adults they actually were), to the point that the kids were spoiling it for the rest of us.

Okay, so I pulled my "school principal" voice and read them their pedigree.  They were a little better behaved after that.

The tour was fun and interesting - we went into the dungeons of Dublin Castle, through a graveyard and to the college where Bram Stoker wrote Dracula.
