I’ve lived in the Lake District all my adult life yet there are still places I haven’t been. Today we set off for Dalemain near Penrith. It promised lovely gardens and a medieval tea room. The weather was so good that we didn’t opt for a tour of the house.

I took lots of flower photos and some of architectural features but I’ve chosen this one of swallows as today’s blip. I noticed them as we were returning to the car park.

Dalemain is famous for it’s marmalade festival. I’ve never liked marmalade. They had it in the cafe to go with the scones …….. I opted for jam. I did however buy a jar for my brother. Hope he likes it.
