Fraser MacIver

Exploring the Crinan canal area we got into conversation with Fraser Maciver an artist who lives in a caravan on the side of the Crinan Canal. It turns out he is a member of the same wild swimming club as my friends in Ardfern. If I lived up here I would wild swim too. I have included a larger scale picture of his canal side home as an extra.
Then we explored some nearby ruins (extra); the township of Arichonan, deserted  when in September 1848, the owner Neil Malcolm ordered the eviction of the tenants.  Like many landlords at the time, he did this to replace the tenants and their small farms with a large-scale sheep run managed by the estate. The tenants rioted and the police had to be called.
