Gwril

The village of Llwyngwril has an annual yarn-bombing project, the centrepiece of which is the knitted model of the giant Gwril. (The river that runs through the village is also called the Gwril.)

Local legend has it that the lowland giant Gwril is a cousin of the mountain giant Idris, who has his home in the nearby Cader Idris mountain.

The Yarn-Bombing Project has a different theme each year and one can follow a mapped trail around the village. It is simply excellent and I hope to post my photos of this year's trail to my Flickr page some time next week.
