I was just in time...

... to capture the capture of a little afternoon snack.

I wasn't expecting to find a heron visiting the pond in the local nature reserve. I approached the pond rather noisily along the boardwalk. Enough to disturb the bird. But minutes later the heron returned and seemed quite happy to be photographed with some waterborne creature trapped in the bill.
