Eye on the Thames

My sister came up from Bristol and we spent the day together in London. Our first visit was to The London Eye which was a first for her, and I'm happy to repeat the experience any time. The views were, of course, spectacular, but we thought we should use something different, the shadow of the London Eye on the river below with Hungerford Bridge in the background.

After the Eye, we wandered along the South Bank of the Thames, enjoying the river views and people watching. We passed the Festival Hall, and the Tate Modern. The Millennium Bridge with its backdrop of St Paul's Cathedral was good for a photoshoot.. We enjoyed seeing the tiny Globe Theatre and then sat for a while at a pavement cafe, making our mug of tea last a long time while we watched the world go by. At the end of the walk we discovered Borough Market under London Bridge with exotic foods from all over the world.

We didn't see the big tourist attractions, but we enjoyed our traffic free Thames walk with a sisterly chat along the way.
