Southern Hawker

There was a strong southerly wind blowing at Whitemoor today, and all the insects were hiding in sheltered corners. A small glade of grassland and brambles was heaving with dragonflies, mostly Common Darter and Ruddy Darter, but there was also one Migrant Hawker and this Southern Hawker, which obligingly came and perched on a nettle stem right next to me.
