Sister Wendy and the Speckled Bush Cricket

I got a phone call at lunchtime telling me that the butterfly walk leader had dropped out and a group of 15 people were waiting in the car park expecting a two hour guided butterfly walk around the reserve. So I nipped over there in pouring rain and duly led them round. It rained most of the time but in between showers we saw Ringlets, Meadow Brown, Gatekeepers,Speckled Wood, Common Blue and a few dragonflies (common darters) so everyone went home damp but content. I got home to find this speckled bush cricket sat on a book about the history of painting.
