In the days of wooden warships it was quite common to have a figurehead, sometimes in the form of a voluptuous woman, affixed to the bow. Progress being what it is, the modern and cheapskate version is a transfer fixed, in this case, just behind the bow. Seen in the marina at La Roche Bernard - see extra. Wooden warships were built in this area a few hundred years ago.
