For those curious as to how to solve the problem of loading and unloading a bus when you have serious cyclists zooming around - triple zebra crossing markings. It doesn't work all the time, especially if your girlfriend is sitting on the bagage rack and you have no idea of breaking distances. Generally, I would advise against stepping onto a cycle path in any circumstances. Cyclists don't care if they hit you, in fact they might even be aiming for you if you don't look up.
